EFFECTIVE TEACHING: JESUS’ METHODS AND STRATEGIES

About Course
This course provides an in-depth examination of the teaching methods and strategies employed by Jesus Christ, exploring their effectiveness and relevance to contemporary teaching practices. Through a critical analysis of biblical texts and contemporary scholarship, students will investigate Jesus’ teaching ministry, including his use of servant-leadership, storytelling, parables, questioning, object lessons, miracles, and other pedagogical approaches. The course will also explore the cultural and historical context of Jesus’ teaching, as well as his emphasis on discipleship, spiritual growth, authority and humility, communication, transformation, multiculturalism, and community building. By examining Jesus’ teaching methods and strategies, students will gain a deeper understanding of effective teaching practices and develop practical skills for applying these principles in contemporary teaching settings.
Course Objectives
- Analyze Jesus’ teaching methods and strategies: Students will critically examine the teaching methods and strategies employed by Jesus Christ, including his use of storytelling, parables, questioning, object lessons, miracles, and other pedagogical approaches.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of Jesus’ teaching methods and strategies: Students will assess the effectiveness of Jesus’ teaching methods and strategies, exploring their strengths and limitations, and considering their relevance to contemporary teaching practices.
- Apply Jesus’ teaching methods and strategies in contemporary teaching settings: Students will develop practical skills for applying Jesus’ teaching methods and strategies in contemporary teaching settings, including the development of lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment strategies.
