About Course

This course offers an in-depth examination of the fundamental principles of ethical leadership in politics. The course seeks to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and values required to apply ethical leadership principles in political setting. Students will gain an extensive knowledge of the key concepts and principles of ethical leadership, such as moral character, servant leadership, justice, accountability, transparency, compassion, courage, humility, empathy, wisdom, stewardship, community building, conflict resolution, and policy ethics, which are essential for societal development.

  • Learning Outcomes: Define ethical leadership and its core principles, identify key characteristics of ethical leaders in politics, and understand the importance of ethical leadership in governance.
  • Biblical Text: Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Emphasizes justice, mercy, and humility).
  • Book Reading: Northouse, P. G. (2021). Leadership: Theory and practice (9th ed., Chap. 1, pp. 1-20). Sage Publications.
  • Assignment: Write a 1000-word essay on the definition and significance of ethical leadership in politics. Participants reflect on their own values and how they align with ethical leadership principles.
